Clare Grill (b. 1979, Chicago, IL) lives and works in Queens, NY. She received a MFA from Pratt and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Solo exhibitions include Reserve Ames, Los Angeles, CA; Soloway, Brooklyn, NY; and Real Art Ways, Hartford, CT. The artist has been included in notable exhibitions at the Bronx Museum, Bronx, NY; Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, Lancaster, PA; Artspace, New Haven, CT; and Nudashank Gallery, Baltimore, MD. Her work has been discussed in Artforum, Modern Painters, the Brooklyn Rail, and Hyperallergic, among others. Ply featured a new suite of eight paintings, which were made during the artist's residency at Steep Rock Arts in Washington, CT.
